How to Check We Are Telling the Truth

Every online PDF service claims to respect your privacy. Most of them mean “we delete your file after thirty minutes” — which still requires you to hand it over first, and to trust a promise you cannot inspect.

Our claim is different in kind, and you do not have to take our word for it. You can verify it in about a minute:

Watch the network. Open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool on this site. You will see the page and its libraries load. You will not see your document go anywhere, because there is no request that carries it.

Disconnect entirely. Load a tool page, turn off your Wi‑Fi, and then process a file. It still works. A service that uploaded your document could not do that.

Read the source. The processing code is JavaScript delivered to your browser. It is not obfuscated, and anyone who wants to audit what it does can.

This is an architectural claim, not a policy one. A privacy policy is a promise a company can change. A tool that has no upload endpoint cannot leak your file even if we wanted it to, and cannot be compelled to hand over documents it never received.

We cannot offer server‑side AI features

Where a tool has limits, we say so on the tool’s own page rather than burying it. Our Word to PDF converter states plainly that it will not reproduce Word’s exact pagination. Our PowerPoint converter lists what it does not reproduce in a table. Our page numbering tool tells you it has no custom starting value. That is deliberate: a tool that oversells wastes your time twice.

How We Are Funded

The tools are free and there is no paid tier. The site carries a small number of advertisements — typically one per page, never more than two, never above the tool itself. Legal pages and error pages carry none.

Advertising is served by Google and, in regions where consent is required, only after you have given it. Because your documents are never transmitted to us, they cannot be used for advertising, analytics or training. There is nothing to use.

Who Builds This

CustomizedPDF is developed by a small team of engineers and privacy advocates, and is part of Zeta Digilux Labs, a group of independent digital utilities. The group also operates OptaPDF, which takes a conventional server‑side approach with automatic deletion. The two exist deliberately: some jobs genuinely need a server, and some documents should never touch one. If you need heavy server‑side processing, OptaPDF is the better fit. If you are handling something confidential, you are in the right place.
